The Service Issue

No matter how well-maintained a machine is, unusual service problems can crop up. In this two-part post, we present a perplexing service issue and explore the response.

The T12 looks fine…it just doesn’t move very well. The Membrane User Interface Panel boots up properly and indicates all systems normal – no faults. Engaging the Propel Switch and stepping on the Propel Pedal makes the machine start moving, but very slowly. After about 10 feet of travel, it stops moving even though the propel pedal is still depressed.

Put your technical hat on and think about these symptoms. What steps would you take to find the cause? Here are some possibilities:

  1. Check the circuit breakers and confirm that none are tripped
  2. Using the on-board propel diagnostic, look for anything that is abnormal
  3. Observe the Curtis-Wright 1232 Controller LED status indicators to see if any faults are being reported.
  4. Both B and C

The Solution
